CANDY COATED

This is one of a few mood boards I made for class recently.  It was one option for a four piece collection I'm going to start working on soon.  I'd love to pursue unapologetic color, but this was a throwaway concept.  It's just easier working in black, not to mention much more economical.  Finding beautiful, saturated colors in the right fabric can be difficult, but inevitably it's more expensive, too.  And then there are countless other complications like finding matching zippers, etc, etc.

MAKE LUV 2 ME

Precious alone time early in the morning before running errands in the city.  And by running errands I mean Helmut Lang sample sale.

NOSTALGIA

One of my favorite F/W 07 ad campaigns was Dior's.  I was obsessed with this ox blood python coat with fox fur sleeves.  Un-fucking-real.  Also in love with the monochromatic looks.  As cliche as a bag or shoe made to match an outfit could be, I thought these turned out perfect.  And the manicures?  Wham bam thank you Stam.

JUUN & RAPHAEL

As far as menswear goes at Seven, my favorite hands down is Juun J.  The F/W 10 collection looked intense on the runway and each piece is just as jaw dropping in person.  This campy gold stud printed puffer (find it here) was not something I expected to like, but it's become one of my favorites (I think it's a collab with Ground Zero).  The more understated pieces are amazing, too, but this holds a special place in my heart.

The shoe below is Raphael Young F/W 10 styled with one of the four crystal and spike harnesses we got from (In)Decorous Taste.  It took me a few tries to get the hang of wrapping shoes with them, but the end result is worth the effort.

More at Seven New York.

SPRING FEVER

If you follow my tumblr you might have seen these Junko Shimada wedges before.  I adore them, especially with the Prada dress in the first photo.  So exuberant.

KINKY, EVIL & OUTRAGEOUSLY TALL

You know I couldn't stop at one pair of Pleaser boots, and there was only one way left to go.. UP!  So I bought these Pleaser Xtreme-1020 eight inch ankle boots.  Got them in the mail this morning and wore them at work immediately after.  The seven inch pair is safe for walking around outside, but I wouldn't push my luck in these.  These are comfortable and very stable indoors (I wore them for six hours), but there are too many uneven sidewalks in New York for me to feel comfortable strolling more than a few blocks in them.

BETTER LATE THAN NEVER..

I just noticed Saks has some of Christopher Kane's S/S 11 shoes online, so I went back and looked over the collection again.  I only intended on sharing photos of the shoes - which I neglected to post about a few months ago - but I love it all.. so I can't help myself.

OH ANN..

You know every season I lament over another pair of Ann Demeulemeester shoes that will not enter my closet.  There are so many shoes out there I love, but it's always Ann Demeulemeester that delivers the ones I know I would wear the most.  Comfortable, understated and perfectly androgynous.  Gimmeeee.

QUIET SUNDAYS

Finally found a vintage motorcycle jacket that fits me.  This one is very beat up, which I love, but I'm still on the look out for more.  Also got these canvas and leather military boots which are a god send because all of my other boots have leather soles which aren't great when the streets are covered in snow. The serrated sole was also irresistible..

HERE 2 PLEASE U

I had wanted boots from Pleaser for a long time, but hadn't set my mind on getting any until trying on my friend's pair a month ago.  This pair is just short of seven inches.. and they look even taller in person. I got them knowing I needed a cheaper pair of ankle boots to wear at work in place of my nicer heels, and they did the trick.

BASIC BLACK

The first look is essentially what I wore for an entire week while visiting family upstate during the holidays.  I rotated tees and jeans.. but it's all the same.  I have no interest in making a statement while traveling or when I'm with family.  Second look is what I wore on new years eve for a small get together.

"Androgynous Pratt student documents his outfits that run the gamut from everyday college kid to flamboyant club kid. Anyone who throws on a pair of Balenciaga platforms or 9" fetish stilettos to cheer himself up is pretty awesome and entertaining in our opinion!"

TOPSHOP INSIDE-OUT BLOG
"Dressing up is what William loves to do most. This young designer from New York doesn’t dress for fashion but just to have fun and enjoy himself like the big kid that he is. Both adorned as a man and woman, his blog isn’t your common “check-out-my-outfit” type blog. It’s a journey into NYC’s crazy nightlife with party outfits straight from the young creative/transvestite scene. Juggling Timberland homemade platforms, tie-dye t-shirts, camo baggy trousers and an orange furry jacket, his looks are absolutely bonkers-awesom, leaving us wanting more everytime. We strongly recommend that you check out his collection too . Made from Japanese anime babe-printed fabric, it’s pretty darn cool."

LYNN & HORST
"I strongly believe in the comeback of Manga and will further explore its use in contemporary art and fashion. Most probably, 'sexualization' will become a core motif. In the first instance, I'd like to draw your attention to the reanimation of Anime by Dripping Lazers."
