Christopher Kane F/W 11 goo clutches.  Colorful, playful and squishy..

Intentional or not, these would make delightful trip toys.

UNIC0RN BABIES

S/S 11 Bernhard Willhelm Unicorn cardigan and skirt.  So adorable.  There's also a dress with a print combining a pot leaf with cherries.. which is probably the most brilliant thing ever.  More HERE.

EARLY B1RD

I was up early enough this morning to catch the sunrise for a few photos.  The dreamy colors seemed like the perfect way to frame the jacket I just finished working on and umm.. new shoes.  Oops.

M0RE PR0GRESS

I mentioned earlier I wanted to put a trigram on the back of my jacket.  WELL, that didn't work out too well with round studs.  If I was thinking at all when I started I would have foreseen the difficulty of creating straight lines with rows of round studs touching each other.  I'm not precise enough so naturally it looked like a mess.  I tore off all the work I had done and started again with a less ambitious design, an inverted triangle like I had previously outlined on a denim vest last summer and just sold (see it HERE).  I spent several nights working on it slowly after I got home from work, and just finished tonight.  I'll get some better photos later.

EYE CANDY

This month I've been working at my school's pre college program, which I myself was a student at four years ago.  After a trip to the Met to see the Savage Beauty exhibit I walked down Fifth Ave with some of the students to an Abercrombie and Fitch store where you could get a polaroid with the shirtless guy outside.  I was pretty stoked, obvi.

QUEEN BEE

Three moments I always come back to.

1.  Express Yourself live in 1985 giving Marlene Dietrich a run for her money.  The 1990 Blonde Ambition tour performances are amazing, too (see here).
2.  Vogue live at the MTV Awards in 1990.  Unreal.
3.  On David Letterman in 1994 - green velvet dress, combat boots and black hair.  Immaculate.  Great interview, too.

REVERSE C0WG1RL

I can't even.  Studding sleeves is such a bitch so I have never and will never attempt it - but obviously the result is bananas.

天 & 地

Made some progress on my jacket...

& of course, I cannot resist David Bowie's China Girl.  Only acceptable in the 80's.

THE END IS AT HAND

Recently cut two pairs of printed tripp jeans into knee length shorts.  I don't own many shorts so I figured it was worth possibly ruining both pairs (which were $10 each on sale anyhow) - but they turned out fine.  Wound up wearing both pairs over the past two days with plenty of other colors..

ALL AB0UT THE M1X

Just a little something to look forward to until fall comes around:  skeleton intarsia sweaters, metallic leather, candy color fox fur, velvet, campy mesh inserts, and industrial goth pvc kilts (!!!!).

BLACK & SILVER

I was unpacking the last boxes I took out of storage earlier this week and found a few leftover studs from my last project.  I used the fifteen or so I had to start working on one of my jackets.  I got one lapel and half the collar outlined.  Ordered some more so I can continue working later..

Also wanted to share this Dominic Jones knock off I got from F21.  The shape isn't as flawless as the real deal, but it's very close and for $6 I'm not complaining.  I had been head over heels in love with the claw rings from his debut collection (and pretty much everything else he has done), but they're pretty expensive.  The Outnet has some on sale right now for a little over $200 which isn't too bad, but still completely outside my budget.

FRUiTY & FL0RAL

Obsessed with this vintage floral shirt right now.  It's the only floral in my closet, but it definitely will not be the last.  It's too bad I don't have a leather harness, that would be the perfect finishing touch.

AN EYE 4 AN EYE

Last Friday was my last day working at Seven (ironically enough, I was there seven months) so my boss took me out for drinks that night.  You can see what I wore earlier that day a post back - the green shirt was cute, but I like to switch things up a little for night so I changed shirts.  Wish I could find a shirt just like it in an op art print, but naturally anything that brilliant never makes it to stores - well, stores us simple folk can afford.  The last photo is what I would have finished the look with if it were fall already.. but unfortunately not.

SLYTHERIN DAY LOOK

For whatever reason, I've been really drawn to green with black lately.  It's super campy and always makes me think of old school disney villains and even more modern symbolism like Slytherin's house colors.

"Androgynous Pratt student documents his outfits that run the gamut from everyday college kid to flamboyant club kid. Anyone who throws on a pair of Balenciaga platforms or 9" fetish stilettos to cheer himself up is pretty awesome and entertaining in our opinion!"

TOPSHOP INSIDE-OUT BLOG
"Dressing up is what William loves to do most. This young designer from New York doesn’t dress for fashion but just to have fun and enjoy himself like the big kid that he is. Both adorned as a man and woman, his blog isn’t your common “check-out-my-outfit” type blog. It’s a journey into NYC’s crazy nightlife with party outfits straight from the young creative/transvestite scene. Juggling Timberland homemade platforms, tie-dye t-shirts, camo baggy trousers and an orange furry jacket, his looks are absolutely bonkers-awesom, leaving us wanting more everytime. We strongly recommend that you check out his collection too . Made from Japanese anime babe-printed fabric, it’s pretty darn cool."

LYNN & HORST
"I strongly believe in the comeback of Manga and will further explore its use in contemporary art and fashion. Most probably, 'sexualization' will become a core motif. In the first instance, I'd like to draw your attention to the reanimation of Anime by Dripping Lazers."
